CENTRE FOR
BADMINTON EXCELLENCE

[FORMERLY PPBA]

building
champions

At Centre for Badminton Excellence, we believe champions are not born but built—through years of intentional training, structured planning, and quiet discipline. Talent is only the starting point. What follows is daily effort, thoughtful coaching, and a commitment to doing the work, even when it’s hard. Our focus is on long-term athlete development, not overnight success or short-term gains. Every player here is part of a system that prioritises effort, integrity, and growth—on the court and beyond it.

Ayush Shetty Finishes Runner-Up at

badminton asian championships

Ayush Shetty delivered an exceptional performance to secure a silver medal in the men’s singles at the Badminton Asia Championships 2026, held in Ningbo from 7th to 12th April. In the final, he went down to China’s Shi Yu Qi, finishing runner-up after a strong week of performances.

On his way to the final, Ayush registered impressive victories over some of the world’s top players, including world No. 1 Kunlavut Vitidsarn, world No. 4 Jonatan Christie, and world No. 7 Li Shi Feng, underlining his ability to compete at the highest level.

With this result, Ayush becomes the first Indian men’s singles player in 61 years to win a medal at the Badminton Asia Championships. For the Centre for Badminton Excellence, this achievement reflects the consistency of the training environment and the belief with which athletes step onto the international stage.

Ayush’s campaign marks an important moment for Indian badminton.
